So now that my idea is progressing in a way that pleases me, I decided to link my aforementioned clients/partners in this studio venture to my blog, and give them free reign to fill me in on what I have missed for their ideal studio environment, or what they consider to be most important.
Here are things that I have missed that I could use in my design, they are mostly "extras" such as equipment:
- A "slidey" guillotine
- A fridge full of energy drinks
- Konica Printer
- Printing press
- All the clients/partners showed a preference for using Mac computer as opposed to Windows.
In terms of what they agreed to be necessary aspects of the studio, the majority said the following four things:
- Good, natural lighting
- A sink
- A music player
- A good surface to work on
From what I gather, the aim is to make the studio a more familiar, home-like space, rather than a very sterile office. I agree with this point, as creativity is generally fostered in a comfortable, familiar environment where "all things are possible" so to speak in terms of creativity and experiments.
