Ivrel's design found inspiration in nature, his idea was to remind us via his building that nature is all around in an environment devoid of any "green" or nature. The building itself is based on a tree's structure, that is, the base is strong, sturdy and straight, with a "canopy" protruding as seen on the facade. His light fixture was made by continuing the canopy pattern onto the wall of the building. Rather than linking the floors by movement and travel as previous groups have done, he indicated the linking would be done by a large glass wall. While this did look effective visually, I was left wondering how people would actually access the other floors.
