"Sustenance" - What does that mean to me?

When I think of sustenance, so many things come to mind, so many things that we rely on to survive.

Food, water, shelter, education, love, motivation, goals, warmth.

Whilst pondering this, I thought how we get our food from supermarkets, water from the water treatment plant, shelter from your home... etc. But in the times of our lives where we are most in need of sustenance (when we are a baby, toddler, young child) our needs, the sustenance, what keeps us alive... Is all in fact provided by our parents.

Mum's hugs keep you warm, Dad's raincoat when it's raining outside... Prepacked lunches for schooldays, constant cheering, motivating and of course, limitless affection and love.

If there's any sustenance we need to prove we are human, it isn't cheeseburgers, coca cola or an electric blanket, it's very simply, your parents.
