Crit 1: Helen Lee

Helen's idea concerning "waking up" was centred on sound. The sounds you hear that wake you up, and her own personal interpretation of such an event on Second Life.

The site she chose was the Lollipops Kindergarden located in the residential area of the designated site. Choosing children as her main facet through which to show her idea. I found the most captivating part of her design was a prim, designed to move in a way that imitated sound waves (also including a wide variety of colours, depicting sound as chaotic, just as I imagined it and she intended it to look). These sound waves would cease upon the command of "snooze."

I felt this interactive display as well as the creative and interesting manipulation of software to create an effect I had never seen before was very well done and overall her idea was very clearly represented. The only thing I would perhaps question in the design is the physical layout she choose, the boring, typical square room does not match up to her complex and well expressed ideas about waking.
